Local Groups 

We have over 90 local groups all over the country. Most groups will follow a "business-style" of meeting. They will have an elected chairperson, a secretary and a treasurer. They will follow an agenda agreed by the members and will take minutes of the meeting. They will have votes on most of the decisions.

Each group will usually be supported by a People First staff member or by a volunteer adviser chosen by the group. Members will sometimes have carers or family members or support staff or personal assistants or sometimes escorts who help the members get to the meetings but they are not allowed into the meetings and space is set aside outside the meeting for these people to wait.
